Elsa and Ana Run 10km for DAWS
At some point in the fall of 2014, a great friend of the DAWS Foundation Team, Matt Thomas, thought it might fun if Brian Johnson and Mitch Brannen ran in full costume as the Disney Princesses from Frozen. As with all great ideas, this particular one gained momentu, quite quickly and before we knew it, costumes were being designed and an agreement was made. If $500 was raised by November 1, 2014 then Mitch and Brian would happily run in full princess regalia, including wigs and makeup.
Much to the delight of the DAWS supporters, over $600 was raised in support. Suddenly the two team members found themselves planning their silks and crinolines in preperation for race day on January 9, 2015.
Bright and early at 2:00 AM race Day, Mitch and Brian sat patiently as their makeup was applied. Wigs were pinned in place and dresses were placed upon their not so feminine frames. They left the room ready to join the masses of 10k Minnie Mouse race participants. People even stopped and asked for photos with the new princesses.
The DAWS Foundation would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who supported this fundraiser, but a special thanks goes to Brian and Mitch who wore the brilliant gowns designed and created by the very talented Judy Mekus.
